Hockey ACT — Athlete Identity Programme

Emerging elite athletes in Canberra are tracking toward national pathway selection and state representation, often training at a full load while also working to support themselves.¹ As global women's sport revenue is projected to hit US$3 billion in 2026, up 25% in a year,² elite programmes elsewhere in Australia — including the AFL — back their athletes' trajectory with decision-grade visual evidence that strengthens the case in board papers, funding submissions and sponsor conversations.³ Canberra programmes are already riding that growth; my framework is what capturing more of it, for the organisation and the athlete alike, looks like.

My assessment: existing social media coverage documented what happened on the field — not the programme behind it. Missing was a standardised identity layer for a selection case, documentation built for governance and funding audiences, and a values-aligned narrative connecting on-field performance to community, culture and wellbeing — the layers this architecture was built to close.
